Community Engagement Scholars Program

How to get started:
To enroll in the Scholars Program, you must first attend an Info Session. At the Info Session, you'll learn more about the program, so you can decide if it's right for you. You'll also receive application materials.
The Community Engagement Scholars Program offers these benefits:
- Recognizes you for integrating community engagement into your educational experience.
- Encourages you to simultaneously pursue your interests, meet your educational goals, and make a difference in your community.
- Provides you with a foundation of analytical, reflective, interpersonal, and leadership skills through real-world experience.
- Supports the University's mission of public engagement and outreach by fostering connections between the University, its students, and their community.
ICEP Student Profiles
The Intergrative Community Engagement Project (ICEP) is a capstone
project that each Scholars student completes at the end of the
program. Students bring together collective knowledge absorbed from
their past community work and academic studies into a self-designed,
Project: Hennepin County Medical Center Mobile
Allan is working on a Mobile app for navigation inside
the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC.) HCMC is
a huge hospital composed of 4 buildings that are hard to navigate for
patients, visitors, and guests. Successfully completing this project will
aid in getting people to different places in the hospital more smoothly.
This project will also allow for nurses and doctors to spend more time
with patients instead of guiding visitors and guests, increasing the
quality of care at HCMC. Read more
