Get Started with Volunteering

STEP 1: Turn in an advising form. This form will help us get to know you and assess your interests and goals. Filling it out will also help you assess those things. And finally, it will help CCLC's advisors make appropriate recommendations for you. Stop by CCLC's 345 Fraser Hall office to fill it out. Or fill it out at your convenience and drop it off. Find the form here (PDF).

STEP 2: Schedule an appointment. Once you've filled out the advising form listed in Step 1, you can either set up an appointment when you drop off the form at our office, or call 612-626-2044 to set up an appointment.

STEP 3: Attend your advising appointment. During your appointment, you will meet for about 15–30 minutes with a student-advisor and discuss your major, career plans, interests, skills, schedule and personal goals. Via this info, we'll help you find an off-campus organization (or several) that fits your needs.

STEP 4: Contact the community organization. You will leave the advising appointment with several contacts to follow-up with. Contact them and get started volunteering!
