Trainings

Community Involvement in Practice:
This session will emphasize the practical skills needed to be successful in any community involvement experience. Recommended for students new to community work.

Training: Critical Perspectives on Community Involvement:
This session is recommended for students with significant past experience with community work and/or service-learning. Participants will learn to problematize "service" and think critically about their experiences.

Training: Minnesota Literacy Council: Tutor Training
This training is designed specifically for those students who will work with adult English Language Learners throughout their service-learning experience.

Reflection, Action, Partnership (RAP) Sessions
for students in the Scholars Program

RAP sessions allow Scholars Program students to get together to discuss the challenges, inspiration and goals of their community work. They're led by Scholars participants, and the topics change each semester. Attending a RAP session and writing a summary will count as one of the 6 required Scholars Program reflections.
